About

Chris Clinton grew up on the beaches of Southern California and first picked up a camera at the young age of eight. Instantly falling in love with the camera he took beginner’s lessons in photography from his mother. That wanderlust and sense of adventure grew as they traveled through South East Asia and he developed his craft. The love and beauty gained on those experiences set him on the path of being a photographer and continue to inspire his work today.

After graduating from high school, Chris studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and than moved to New York in 1997 where he attended the School of Visual Arts. Under the tutelage of renowned Fashion Photographer Guy Aroch, Clinton quickly sharpened his technical skills, mastering the art of lighting and the digital image. He went on to assist his teacher after graduation, working across the globe on shoots for the likes of French Elle, The New York Times and Victoria’s Secret.

For the past three years, he’s been building an impressive portfolio of his own, with artistic projects for Dazed & Confused and Nylon magazine as well as a robust list of commercial clients including Cosmopolitan, Time Out and Citibank.

He currently splits his time between Los Angeles and New York.
